Pastoral Leadership

In Blackhawk Presbytery, with its diversity of congregation size, pastoral leadership takes a variety of forms.

The Commission on Ministry has the primary responsibility for assuring that each congregation has competent and appropriate pastoral leadership. Each congregation has a designated representative who is in contact with the pastor(s) and session. The Commission on Ministry assists congregations and pastors through:

care and counseling for pastors
technical assistance for congregations
conflict assessment and management
assistance during pastoral transitions

The Committee on Preparation for Ministry provides care and oversight to those in various stages of preparation for ministry. For assistance in these areas, contact CPM co-moderators Spencer Homan or Eric Keller or general presbyter John Rickard.
