February 2012 Presbytery Meeting
Blackhawk Presbytery met February 14, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church in Dixon. The presbytery:
- Remembered ruling elders deceased in 2011 (Necrology Report)
- Elected Rev. Dr. Roy Backus (Morris) to the Commission on Ministry, class of 2014
- Elected Gerald Larson (Belvidere) to the Personnel Committee, class of 2012
- Received a proposed revised Personnel Manual from the Personnel Committee for first reading
- Approved suspension of Article V: Officers, Section E.1 in order to elect Treasurer Lou Ann Breckenridge as President of the Board of Trustees and Trustee Edith McDonald as secretary to the board of Trustees
- Upon recommendation of the Board of Trustees approved the sale of manses belonging to First Presbyterian Church, Oregon and First Presbyterian Church, Scales Mound
- Approved an amendment to the Stronghold Endowment Fund Agreement
- Examined and approved Jonathan Berosek to move from inquirer to Candidacy for the Office of Teaching Elder (minister)
- Examined and approved Edwin Brinklow for Ordination to the Office of Teaching Elder and approved his terms of call to Dakota Community Presbyterian Church
- Examined and approved Ryan Pixton for Ordination to the Office of Teaching Elder and approved his terms of call as Associate Pastor for Children & Youth at Fox Valley Presbyterian Church, Geneva
- Approved the call of Rev. Brian Hall to First Presbyterian Church, Princeton
- Approved the call of Rev. David Scott Vandenheuval to First Presbyterian Church, Pontiac
- Approved the dissolution of the relationship between Rev. Phyllis Mueller and First Presbyerian Church, Marengo
- Approved the dissolution of the position of Pastor at First Presbyterian Church, Marengo
- Approved the members of an Administrative Commission at First Presbyterian Church, Marengo
