2020 June Presbytery Meeting

The Stated Meeting of the Presbytery of Blackhawk was held on June 2, 2020 at 9:30 am via a Zoom video conference.
In the highlight of the meeting, the Presbytery voted to call our next Transformational General Presbyter and Stated Clerk, Rev. Eric Heinekamp. The TPNC strongly endorsed him for his extensive leadership experience in many different realms, his optimism and integrity and especially his strong interpersonal skills. While Eric continues his duties as our part time Stated Clerk, we look forward to his official start date of August 1, 2020 when the two positions combine to be one full time appointment. Rev. Nancy Dolan will continue in her responsibilities as Executive Bridge Presbyter through the end of July and we extend our grateful thanks for the many ways she is working with us.
The Assembly also heard a message from PC(USA) Co-Moderator Vilmarie Cintron-Olivieri. We are grateful for her service these past two years and look forward to her continued enthusiastic leadership in the denomination. As the General Assembly gathers again at the end of June, we commissioned our delegation and send them with our blessings and prayers: Rev. Dr. Anita Stuart-Steva, Rev. David Terrinoni, Elder Phil Rarick and Elder and Commissioned Pastor Laurie Walker. Their experience participating in a totally electronic gathering will surely bring mixed reflections and we look forward to hearing their reports.
At the second Assembly to gather on Zoom due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Blackhawk also acknowledged in a variety of ways the pain and frustration felt by many as racial unrest, following another example of police brutality, grips our nation in these early summer days. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayers.
Congratulations to the Twelve Blackhawk Churches who will receive the
2019 Six for Six Award
